Andy may be away at college (or, truthfully, graduated and out in the real world with the rest of us), but that doesn’t mean his toys have stopped having adventures.
Toy Story Land, the newest section of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is officially open!
Guests are invited to shrink down to the size of a toy and enjoy all that Andy’s backyard has to offer, including two new attractions (Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers), a new quick-service dining location (Woody’s Lunch Box, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), and, of course, Toy Story Mania!
The land is bursting with bright colors and nostalgic details that made this Toy Story fan pretty emotional, to be honest. Growing up with this franchise, I always felt a connection to the story. What really brought it home for me was when Toy Story 3 came out and Andy was going off to college, as I was a senior in high school and a year away from starting college myself.
There’s something special about being able to see your childhood come to life right before your eyes and be able to step INTO the story and become part of the magic.
I can’t wait to play big over and over again this summer in Andy’s backyard and I can’t thank everyone involved enough for constructing a land based on my favorite Pixar film of all time.
Now, enough sappy talk. Enjoy these photos from the opening weekend of Toy Story Land and let me know in the comments when you plan on visiting!
